Things to do when it’s a 100°, DAY 2!

by | Jul 28, 2026 | Dog Behavior, Dog Fun, Dog training

For those of you who know Diamond, she is my 18 month old Australian Shepherd. Keeping her tired when it is this hot is a game where you teeter between exercise and not overheating her. She can run and fetch or do agility. She can get in her pool. We can take walks. All of these have to be shorter lived because of how hot it is this week. If I don’t tire her out, we will both go crazy! So that means all of her meals are interactive right now!
Here are some quick Ideas that I use regularly.
Prep food after each meal for the next if you want to make frozen treats.
🐾Picture 1- Scoop dogfood into metal bowl and add water till it is floating.
🐾Picture 2 – Scoop dogfood into a toy you can freeze, like Freezebones, top with cute treats, and freeze until their next meal.
🐾Picture 3 – Scoop dogfood into bowl, add water, freeze until next meal. Let thaw for 15 min before serving.
🐾 Picture 4 – Chop veggies for yourself. Add scraps to a bowl. Freeze until it’s 127° outside.😝 Let thaw until it will come off the bowl and serve on the ground or in a bowl of water. (For dogs or chickens.)
